Position Overview

Provides diagnostic, habilitative, and rehabilitative services to patients referred to the Audiology clinic for hearing and balance problems.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:

  1. Master's degree in Audiology required.
  2. Must be eligible for West Virginia State Licensure in Audiology, or applicable state where services will be performed.
Preferred Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:

  1. Doctor of Audiology (AuD).
  2. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A).
Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following are the general responsibilities of this position; other duties may be assigned:

  1. Administer audiological and vestibular tests.
  2. Perform routine audiometry.
  3. Perform site of lesion tests, non-organic tests, impedance measures, otoacoustic emission tests, auditory brainstem response tests, videonystagmography, and other electrophysiological tests as needed.
  4. Administer sound field testing for pediatric and difficult-to-test populations.
  5. Assess cochlear implant candidacy, programming, and follow-up of cochlear implant patients.
  6. Assist in training residents and supervising graduate students in audiology.
  7. Maintain responsibility for hearing aid utilization and dispensing.
  8. Maintain clinic hearing aid supplies.
  9. Administer hearing aid evaluations and checks.
  10. Counsel patients on test results, amplification needs, and ear protection.
  11. Provide technical assistance on new hearing aid technology and fitting techniques.
  12. Maintain accurate patient records for hearing services.
  13. Manage test results and impressions recommendations.
  14. Correspond with authorized personnel and agencies regarding clinic statistics.
  15. Oversee and administer aural rehabilitation services.
  16. Schedule patients for habilitation and rehabilitation services.
  17. Maintain records of aural rehabilitation therapy.
  18. Refer patients to appropriate services when needed.
  19. Evaluate patients in OR as needed.
Physical Requirements

Ability to hear and speak clearly; prolonged sitting.

Work Environment

Normal outpatient clinic environment.
