Job Summary

Specializes in diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance problems related to human communication. Diagnoses and evaluates auditory skills as related to functional communication. Establishes recommendations based on diagnostic testing.

Duties and Essential Functions

1. Completes documentation on all patients
2. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team; engages in performance improvement activities
3. Assists in maintaining the hearing aid program; acts as a consultant to educational, medical, and professional groups
4. Attends meetings, conferences, and promotes professional growth; complies with work rules and safety regulations; works any shift necessary
5. Manages students and subordinates; responsible for their direction, coordination, and evaluation
6. Synthesizes complex information; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience; designs workflows and procedures

Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

• Master's degree (M.A. or M.S.)
• Active Audiologist license in Kentucky
• Preferred: Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology), active ASHA certification

Working Environment

• Professional office environment; routine use of computers
• Occasional travel to off-site locations
• Low noise level typical

Physical Demands

• Frequently stationary behind a computer or presenting
• Frequently moving around the Medical Center or rounding
• Constant communication via electronic, telephonic, and in-person means
