Job description

Position Overview

American Communications Solutions is hiring an Audio-Visual Installation Technician to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense. The AV Installation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of professional audio, video, control systems, professional lighting, and electronic equipment, with a mission-driven mindset that aligns with overall company objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Install, assemble, and repair AV systems according to systems documentation and industry standards and best practices.
2. Maintain updated as-built documentation of systems installations.
3. Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals.
4. Experienced with the installation of AV systems and equipment including flat panel displays, control systems, and AV signal routing and processing equipment.
5. Familiarity with multimedia (VTC, video walls, Crestron), telecommunication transport, secure and non-secure voice communications.
6. Ability to fabricate, cable, and test equipment racks and cabinets.
7. Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure-sensitive situations.
8. Ability to properly and safely use/operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment.
9. Able to perform installations and break/fix actions while on ladders or crawl spaces of various heights and depths.
10. Demonstrated ability to work with and without direct supervision.
11. Good interpersonal and time management skills.
12. Troubleshoot a variety of audiovisual systems for high visibility and mission-critical systems.
13. Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites.
14. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task, manage deadlines, and work within tight timelines, effectively implementing these skills during installations.
15. Ability to exercise collaboration and exhibit a mission-driven mindset.
16. Manage equipment inventory during installations, ensuring all required components are accounted for and functional.
17. Ability to coordinate with other contractors or vendors to ensure seamless integration of AV systems.
18. Perform post-installation support, including client handovers and basic operational training.
19. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for maintenance, support purposes, and overall project success.
20. All other duties as assigned by management.

1. Security Clearance: Secret

Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $60,000

Salary Maximum: $95,000

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
