Job summary

Verum AV Solutions is seeking an AV Design Engineer focused on audio system design for worship, hospitality, and corporate environments. You will lead from concept through construction documents, installation, and performance verification, reporting to the Chief Solutions Officer and coordinating with the Installs Manager.

You will design speech and music reinforcement, model coverage, specify 70V/100V systems, and develop DSP architectures using Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira, and related tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial AV system design experience with demonstrable depth in audio design.
• Experience with coverage modeling, gain structure, loudspeaker matching, and intelligibility prediction.
• A portfolio of completed audio designs, including at least one acoustically challenging worship or assembly space.
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, gain structure, impedance, and power calculations.
• Working knowledge of Division 26 and Division 27 documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design speech- and music-reinforcement systems for acoustically challenging spaces.
• Model coverage and intelligibility using EASE, EASE Focus, and prediction tools.
• Select and optimize arrays and distributed loudspeaker systems for various spaces.
• Design DSP architecture and signal flow across platforms (Q-SYS, Biamp Tesira, Symetrix, BSS).
• Create FOH/monitor/wireless system layouts and I/O schemes.
• Coordinate with acousticians and field teams to align design with build.
• Prepare BOMs and labor estimates for Jetbuilt imports.
• Review shop drawings for design intent and code compliance.
