Job summary

University of Texas at Austin, Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services (LAITS), seeks an Audio Production Engineer to coordinate with instructional staff and LAITS personnel on creating online courses and multimedia projects. The role involves field and studio productions, post-production work, and upskilling student engineers.

The position requires technical studio knowledge, organization, communication, dependability, and the ability to quickly resolve issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field.
More than two years of experience in live video broadcast, and the operation of audio or video production equipment.
Experience in audio production for online education and online courses.
Strong communication skills.
Experience mixing audio for live-streaming events.
Proficiency in using AirTable.
Experience overseeing or training student audio engineers.

Responsibilities

Record, mix, edit and work on productions with audio needs in the field, in studios and in coordination with other AV crews.
Coordinate with LAITS project and studio staff to understand requirements of each production and advise on ways to achieve stated goals.
Work autonomously and efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously, in pre-production, post-production and production settings.
Provide training and feedback on productions to various staff, including student employees.
Create and communicate reports on projects and staff.
Work with clients to understand the specific needs of projects.
Other duties as assigned.
