Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is hiring an Audio Production Engineer to support liberal arts multimedia productions. The role collaborates with LAITS staff to run field and studio productions and provides post-production support as needed.

Requires studio knowledge, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and train student engineers. On-campus work with flexible duties and deadlines is expected.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience in radio, television or film production with a Bachelor's Degree, or 5 years’ experience with a high school diploma/GED.
  • Strong knowledge of Audio DAWs and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Experience with audio field equipment including mixers, microphones, loudspeakers and peripherals.

Responsibilities

  • Record, mix, edit and work on productions with audio needs in the field, studios, and with LAITS crews.
  • Coordinate with LAITS staff to understand production requirements and advise on achieving goals.
  • Work autonomously on multiple projects, in pre-, post-, and production settings.
  • Provide training and feedback to staff and student employees.
  • Create and communicate project reports and staff updates.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project needs.
