Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software engineer intern in Illinois to assist with middleware and OS-independent applications for audio products. You will prototype with TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS, and C++, and contribute to high-quality code design.

Requirements include a current Bachelor's or advanced degree in software engineering and at least two years of engineering coursework. Familiarity with unit testing is a plus, and sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in software engineering or related field.
• At least two years of engineering coursework.
• Understanding of software design principles including separation of concerns, high cohesion, and low coupling.
• Ability to decompose large, complex software systems into manageable subsystems with clearly defined interfaces.
• Familiar with writing unit tests to ensure high quality code.
• Able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
• Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
• Development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
• Development experience with C++ is a plus.
• Development experience with Angular is a plus.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and testing platform-independent middleware for audio products.
• Implement business logic for operating-system-independent application software for audio products and DSP software.
• Prototype application software using TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS, and C++.
• Design, create, and test high-quality code.
• Estimate, organize, and document tasks under the supervision of mentors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work under the supervision of the Engineering Manager and Mentor.
