About Us
Caroline Calouche & Co. / Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center is a Charlotte dance and circus company and studio. We create and tour original productions, train students of all ages, and bring arts education into Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools.
Our 2026-27 season includes The Three Spirits, a brand-new holiday show opening December 11, and Star Gazer, performed in Charlotte and on tour in Columbia and Raleigh.
Position Summary
You will love this job if you are passionate about the transformative nature of the performing arts. If you enjoy the business side of the arts: making the content, filling the seats, and making art accessible. Here, you will make a direct impact, bringing joy and uniting people through shared experiences. We see ourselves as fighting the good fight for freedom of expression and knocking down walls to build community.
We are hiring a full-time Audience & Education Coordinator to fill our theater seats and our school calendar. About 60% of the role is audience marketing for our shows and tours. About 40% is booking our educational programs with schools.
In this role, you will take ownership of your work from start to finish. You will build the Canva Reels, run the Meta ads, make the calls, and keep every task moving in Asana. When something is not working, you will try a new approach, such as following an unanswered email with a phone call, text, or school visit, or adjusting an ad that is underperforming. Because you are closest to the work, you will report results clearly and suggest improvements. We are looking for someone ready to grow with us for the long term.
Status Full-time, year-round, W-2, non-exempt
Schedule About 40 hours/week. Flexible, with most work done during weekday daytime hours, plus company performances and events
Location Our studio on Monroe Road in Charlotte, NC. In-person most days, with some flexibility for remote admin work
Reports to Caroline Calouche, Executive Director
Start date As soon as possible; target mid-November 2026
Key Responsibilities
Audience Marketing (about 60%)
- Help meet ticket sales and box office goals for The Three Spirits and Star Gazer in Charlotte, Columbia, and Raleigh.
- Capture content and create social media content for both the company and school in Canva, including Reels, Stories, posts, and graphics, from the video, photos, and copy we provide.
- Build, launch, and monitor Meta Ads Manager campaigns: audiences, creative, and budget pacing through each run.
- Keep the organic content calendar for Instagram and Facebook on schedule, tied to rehearsal and show timelines.
- Make outbound calls and send text and email follow-ups to past ticket buyers, students, and families before each on-sale and in the final two weeks before a show.
- Keep patron lists segmented and accurate in Mailchimp.
- Represent our shows at community events and tabling opportunities. At performances and events, assist with front of house and merchandise and lead volunteers.
- Send a short weekly report on ad results, outreach activity, and ticket sales.
Education Bookings (about 40%)
- Reach out to teachers and school administrators to promote our educational programs.
- Book programs directly with schools, confirming dates, times, locations, and program details.
- Serve as the main contact for schools from first inquiry through confirmation and follow-up.
- Coordinate schedules between booked schools and our teaching artists and performers, and communicate any changes promptly.
- Track bookings and contacts in Asana and Google Drive so we meet the booking goals.
- Follow up after each program to confirm satisfaction and invite repeat bookings and referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Lives within 30 minutes of our Monroe Road studio and has reliable transportation.
- Available weekday daytime hours. This must be your primary job, not one fit around another full-time position.
- Experience with a performing arts organization, as staff, performer, or volunteer. Dance or circus experience is a plus.
- Hands-on Canva skills: you can turn raw video and copy into a finished, on-brand Reel.
- Hands-on Meta Ads Manager experience: you have built and launched campaigns yourself.
- Working knowledge of Asana: projects, tasks, due dates, and assignees, ready to use from day one.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, sales, outreach, or arts administration.
- Comfortable making outbound calls to schools and patrons. This role is relational.
- Strong follow-through: you finish tasks on time and keep details organized across many calendars.
- Clear, friendly, professional communication with families, educators, and artists.
- Must be 18 or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with schools, teachers, or youth programs.
- EventBrite, Tix.com or other ticketing platforms experience.
- Basic photo and video shooting skills.
- An eye for results: you can read ad data and suggest what to test next.
- Familiarity with Notion and Google Workspace.
- Speaking Spanish is a plus.
- Salary: $40,000 per year (about $19.23 per hour). W-2, non-exempt, paid biweekly.
- Raises and advancement: eligible for a raise to $42,000 at the six-month review when revenue KPIs are met, with further raises at annual performance reviews tied to revenue growth. As the role and revenue grow, there is a path to Audience & Education Manager.
- Flexible paid time off: take the time you need, as long as your work is done and covered. Request time off in advance and plan around show weeks so the team is not left in a lurch.
- Free classes at Charlotte Cirque & Dance Center.
- Complimentary tickets to events and performances.
This position does not include health insurance or retirement benefits.
