AutoNation in Houston, TX is seeking a Title Clerk to prepare tag and title documents, file DMV paperwork, and enter title data into our auction software for sold vehicles. You will verify fees, prepare checks, and maintain vehicle jackets while ensuring compliance with DMV regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of dealership experience preferred.
• Previous tag and title experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Comprehensive knowledge of title & DMV laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and strong customer service skills.
• Experience with DMV and/or Auction Edge/ASI auction systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tag and title documents for DMV submission.
• Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV.
• Prepare checks to reimburse DMV fees.
• Input title information into auction software for sold cars.
• Look up VINs in state DMV system to determine outstanding fees.
• Prepare and maintain vehicle jackets.
• Secure titles until customers retrieve them.
• Prepare express shipments or registered mail with titles.
• Administer all title processing for auction transactions.
• Create title reports and amounts owed for flooring companies.
• Stay current with DMV laws and regulations.
