Job summary

CarMax in West Columbia, SC is seeking an Auction Services Associate to maintain vehicle zones, prepare inventory, receive vehicles, scan inventory, and support sale operations at the auction lot.

You will help protect assets, document records, train new associates, and ensure accurate real-time inventory while complying with EH&S standards and providing excellent service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and enter data accurately to maintain inventory records.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple departments across the store.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Maintain awareness of inventory and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily inventory appearance and security, optimize vehicle zones.
• Document and track incoming/outgoing inventory through shipping and receiving.
• Receive, prepare, and process vehicles, including locating, photos, and keys.
• Support auction operations with preparation, coordination, and execution.
• Contribute to new associate training and reinforce safety standards.
• Perform daily inventory scanning and reconciliation for real-time visibility.
• Follow EH&S requirements and keep a clean, orderly work area.
