Job summary

Cox is seeking a Porter to coordinate the movement of vehicles through the sales lane, assign drivers and support staff, and ensure a smooth flow from lot to block and parking. You will inspect equipment, guide presale activities, and address issues affecting vehicle listings and customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Less than 2 years of related experience is typical.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
Basic mechanical knowledge to identify issues like flat tires, low gas, or jump-starts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate movement of vehicles through the sale lane to the block and parking.
Assign and oversee drivers, jump start/battery operators, and push truck operators.
Inspect support equipment for proper working order.
Conduct presale walk to ensure vehicles are in assigned lane.
Address missing vehicles, overflow areas, and inoperable vehicles.
Maintain run list for keys, late entries, and number changes.
Respond to customer and dealer inquiries.
Report safety concerns to management.
Oversee parking of sold and re-parking of non-sold vehicles.
