Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Lane Leader to coordinate the movement of vehicles through the sales lane and onto the block and parking areas after auction. You will assign and oversee drivers, jump-start/battery operators, and push truck operators to maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

The role involves inspecting equipment, conducting presale briefings, and resolving issues related to vehicles, keys, and lane assignments. It is a physically active on-site position at the auction facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with related field experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to identify issues like flat tires, low gas, jump-starts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct vehicle movement to maintain continuous flow through the block.
• Inspect support equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Conduct presale driver meetings and walk-throughs to confirm lanes and routes.
• Identify missing vehicles, overflow areas, inoperable vehicles and other issues.
• Maintain run lists indicating vehicles with no keys, late entries or late number changes.
• Respond to customer and dealer inquiries and concerns.
• Oversee parking of sold and re-parking of non-sold vehicles.
• Report theft, lot damage, or safety concerns to management.
