Attorney - Workers' Compensation Defense

Carpenter, McCadden & Lane, LLP is a regional defense law firm serving employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation litigation in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New Jersey. With over 20 years of experience and offices near Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, we specialize in administrative law related to workers' compensation.

Position Overview:

We seek a motivated attorney to join our workers' compensation defense team. This role offers a great opportunity for early career attorneys to gain courtroom experience, engage directly with clients, and participate in educational programs.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct legal research on workers' compensation laws and regulations.
2. Assist senior attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
3. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and medical experts.
4. Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations both virtually and in person.
5. Collaborate with team members on case strategies.
6. Maintain organized case files and documentation.
7. Stay updated on developments in workers' compensation law.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Expected admission to the PA, WV, or NJ bar.
• Strong academic record.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Professionalism and dedication to client service.
