Role involves managing matters through milestones, drafting pleadings and motions, and active client/oppose counsel communication.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of insurance defense and/or civil litigation experience; plaintiff-side experience will be considered.
• Proven ability to manage cases through key litigation milestones, including trial and appeal as applicable.
• Excellent legal writing and research skills; writing sample(s) required.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Draft pleadings, written discovery, and substantive motions; handle legal research and develop case strategy.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation events.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders with professionalism and sound judgment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience with marine insurance coverage litigation, maritime personal injury, or related maritime disputes.
• Interest in client relationship development and contributing to the growth of a specialized litigation practice.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) with profit sharing.
• Medical insurance (100% coverage for a Kaiser plan), plus dental and vision insurance.
• Bonus structure described as starting at $1,650; after approximately 18 months, strong performance can support bonuses in the $20,000 to $30,000 range.
