Job summary

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader seeks an Attorney Talent Coordinator to support onboarding, integration, and development strategies across the Americas. The role reports to the Director of Attorney Talent and collaborates with the U.S.-based People team to enhance attorney engagement and retention.

Responsibilities include coordinating first-year onboarding, managing DC Development Program integration, supporting feedback and offboarding processes, and assisting with mentoring and stay interviews.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience at a law firm in talent, professional development, recruiting, or human resources highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate integration and onboarding efforts for first-year and lateral attorneys, working with Associate Recruiting and practice groups.
  • Manage ongoing integration for first-year associates, focusing on the DC Development Program.
  • Support feedback and review processes (Dialogue) including six-month feedback for new joiners.
  • Provide administrative support to attorney offboarding, including exit interviews and reporting trends.
  • Support engagement and retention efforts like mentoring, surveys, tracking and stay interviews.
  • Coordinate associate events and programs from planning to logistics; liaise with vendors.

Overview

The Attorney Talent Coordinator is an integral part of the Attorney Talent team and supports all aspects of on‑the‑job attorney development strategies and engagement, including onboarding and integration, career development, retention and promotion for our attorneys across the Americas. The coordinator will report to the Director of Attorney Talent and Development – Americas and collaborate with the broader U.S.‑based legal People team.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate integration and onboarding efforts for first‑year and lateral attorneys, working closely with the Associate Recruiting team and practice groups to facilitate a successful transition into the firm.
  • Manage the ongoing integration of first‑year associates, with a focus on the DC Development Program, including coordination across HLC Lead & Learn, Attorney Talent, Associate Recruiting and Inclusion.
  • Support the feedback and review processes (Dialogue) for legal personnel, including specialists and attorneys, and administer the six‑month feedback process for new joiners.
  • Provide administrative support to the attorney offboarding process, including coordinating exit interviews and reporting results and trends to the Attorney Talent team.
  • Support engagement and retention efforts, such as coordinating the mentoring program, survey management, tracking and stay interviews.
  • Support initiatives to maintain and build morale and increase associate engagement and satisfaction.
  • Work with the team to coordinate associate events and programs, from planning to logistics, and liaise with vendors and resources.
  • Assist with budget development and monitoring.
  • Run reports and maintain and update departmental databases and records as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the People team and other Business Team departments to suggest initiatives that enhance the day‑to‑day work environment for attorneys.

Education & Experience

Three (3) or more years of relevant experience required. Experience at a law firm in talent, professional development, recruiting, or human resources highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hours & Additional Information
  • Core hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, with one hour for lunch.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as requested.
  • Base salary range for this role in Washington, D.C.: $59,420 to $69,570 per year.
  • Position eligible for additional compensation, including annual discretionary bonuses.
  • Eligible for benefits offered by the firm, subject to applicable plan terms and conditions, including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off.
