Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a law license, law review, and/or journal participation, and familiarity with electronic court filing. Experience with federal agency litigation, a federal clerkship, or TVA business is a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal research, counsel, guidance, and assistance related to TVA's legal matters.
2. Investigate legal and factual questions, often requiring substantial research, involving federal, state, and local law.
3. Represent TVA in administrative proceedings, depositions, trials, and hearings, especially for routine or less complex cases.
4. Work under specific objectives with guidance, developing expertise in specialized fields and understanding TVA's legal status and precedents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Law degree or scheduled to receive one within 10 months of application. A law degree is required to start employment.
• Experience: Licensed to practice law in at least one state or D.C. within 6 months of graduation.
• Skills: Strong academic credentials, analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
