The role emphasizes leadership, compliance with MRPC, and developing attorneys through mentorship and performance management. A JD and bar admission are required.

Qualifications

• J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years as a practicing trial attorney with management experience.
• Strong litigation skills in insurance defense (auto, premises, general liability).
• Proven leadership in managing legal teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of ethics, compliance, risk management.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with claims and business partners.
• Comfort with using technology to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Operational Management and Oversight: Assist the Resident Attorney in managing team operations and office metrics.
• Litigation: Manage litigation activities within the team and your caseload.
• Caseload Management: Oversee distribution of caseloads based on complexity and experience.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct internal audits to uphold high legal standards and minimize risk.
• Relationship Management: Build relationships with claims leadership and business units.
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and innovation.
• Compliance Culture: Ensure adherence to MRPC and corporate policies; mentor attorneys.
• Talent Acquisition and Development: Support interviewing and develop attorneys to meet performance targets.
