Job summary

Weltman, Weinberg & Reis is seeking an attorney to resolve client issues through routine and some complex negotiations and/or litigation, under supervision appropriate to experience. The attorney will handle tasks across multiple phases of law.

The role requires a Juris Doctor degree and several years of relevant experience, with strong research, writing, and analytical abilities, and a commitment to professional conduct and client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) required.
• 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively and discretely to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Knowledge of laws, procedures, precedents, and regulations including consumer protection statutes.

Responsibilities

• Acts with the highest ethical standards as a legal professional and firm member.
• Delivers excellent customer service to clients.
• Represents clients at legal, administrative and other proceedings as assigned.
• Researches and interprets laws and formulates legal opinions for review.
• Identifies causes of action and prepares lawsuits based on facts and laws.
• Interviews clients and witnesses in preparation for proceedings.
• Drafts, reviews, and dictates legal briefs, pleadings and other documents.
• Negotiates to resolve cases and develops strategy and testimony.
