Deservely Technologies in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a seasoned Insurance Defense attorney to manage a full caseload from inception to resolution, with emphasis on automobile liability and civil litigation under New Jersey law.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from an accredited law school, an active NJ license, 3–8 years of defense experience, and strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; the role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with 2–3 days in the Jersey City office.

Responsabilidades

• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances.
• Participate in arbitrations and mediations, prepare matters for trial.
• Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law.
• Maintain relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients.
• Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances
• Participate in arbitrations and mediations, prepare matters for trial
• Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law
• Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients
• Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda

Education & Experience Requirements

Required: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; Active New Jersey law license; 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience; experience independently managing litigation matters; experience handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice; strong legal research/writing and oral advocacy skills.

Strong Plus: New Jersey automobile liability defense experience; experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities; arbitration/mediation/trial/courtroom experience; premises liability experience; existing relationships with insurance carriers or claims professionals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Flexible hybrid — new attorneys generally expected 2-3 days/week in the Jersey City office initially, loosely enforced.
