RibbitZ LLC in New Jersey seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our North Jersey team. The ideal candidate has 3–8 years of insurance defense litigation experience and can manage a caseload independently while collaborating with senior litigators and firm leadership.

Strong preference for handling New Jersey automobile liability matters. This hybrid role requires 2–3 days per week in our Jersey City office, with flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
• 3–8 years of insurance defense litigation experience; strong writing and advocacy skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances.
• Participate in arbitrations and mediations and prepare matters for trial.
• Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law.
• Maintain relationships with insurers, claims professionals, and corporate clients.
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions and memoranda.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Client is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its North Jersey team. This role is designed for an attorney with 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience who is comfortable independently managing a caseload while working closely with experienced litigators and firm leadership. Experience handling New Jersey automobile liability matters is strongly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances
• Participate in arbitrations and mediations, prepare matters for trial
• Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law
• Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients
• Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; Active New Jersey law license; 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience; experience independently managing litigation matters; experience handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice; strong legal research/writing and oral advocacy skills.

Strong Plus: New Jersey automobile liability defense experience; experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured entities; arbitration/mediation/trial/courtroom experience; premises liability experience; existing relationships with insurance carriers or claims professionals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Flexible hybrid — new attorneys generally expected 2-3 days/week in the Jersey City office initially, loosely enforced.
