Job summary

State Compensation Insurance Fund in Oxnard is seeking a skilled Attorney (Attorney III or Attorney) to defend California’s insured employers and state agencies in workers’ compensation matters. You will draft pleadings, conduct discovery, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in court, including trials.

State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Oxnard Legal office is seeking a motivated Attorney (Attorney III or Attorney levels) to join our exceptional legal team defending California’s insured employers and state agencies. Who We Are Looking For

Attorneys who are licensed to practice law in California. Experienced (Attorney III) or newly admitted (Attorney) with a passion for litigation. No prior workers’ comp experience required for Attorney. Newly admitted attorneys are highly encouraged to join our team. Location:

The Oxnard Legal unit appears at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) district offices in Oxnard, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. The incumbent/successful candidate may also be required to appear at other WCAB offices and locations on occasion.

To facilitate local in-person hearings, we seek candidates located within Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Kern County. Reimbursement for local travel will be provided within the allowable mile radius.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
