Starting Salary: $70,720.00 annually and will be based on experience and qualifications.

Work Location: St. Louis County Government Center in Clayton and the North and South County Satellite Government Centers.

Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, day hours and may be required to work up to 2 nights per week handling the Municipal Dockets.

Hybrid Remote Information: Hybrid with in person attendance required for certain duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prosecutes ordinance violations.
• Provides legal advice, guidance and opinions to County employees, officials and boards/commission to ensure compliance and adherence to laws.
• May perform legal work related to administrative, transactional, litigation, legislative and other matters handled by the County Counselor’s Office.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and current licensure as an Attorney by the Missouri Bar Association.
• Individuals who took the July 2026 Missouri Bar examination may apply; however, such applicants are not eligible for hire unless and until they are fully licensed attorneys, sworn in to practice law, in Missouri.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to provide effective, comprehensive legal advice.
