Job summary

St. Louis County in Missouri is seeking an Attorney I to join the County Counselor’s Office. The role offers a starting salary of $70,720 per year with hybrid in-person requirements and locations at the Government Center in Clayton and satellite centers.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Missouri Bar license; eligible to practice in Missouri.
• Experience providing legal advice and opinions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prosecutes ordinance violations.
• Provides legal advice, guidance and opinions to County employees, officials and boards/commission to ensure compliance and adherence to laws.
• May perform legal work related to administrative, transactional, litigation, legislative and other matters handled by the County Counselor’s Office.
• May handle expungement dockets, involuntary commitment hearings, administrative and SORA matters.
• Responsible for contract drafting and review, legal research and writing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
