Job summary

CyberCoders in Florham Park, NJ, is seeking a Senior Associate/Counsel with 5+ years of family law experience to handle sophisticated matters and related civil litigation, including premarital and marital agreements and commercial settlements. You will work with Principals to develop strategy, supervise discovery, hearings, depositions, and trials, and advise clients on rights, risks, and options.

NJ Bar admission required; NY Bar preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required.
• Admission to the New York Bar is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of family law experience.
• Experience with family law, business law, and general commercial litigation.
• Member in good standing with all applicable state bars.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and reasoning skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with peers, clients, and firm leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with a caseload under Principal supervision involving sophisticated family law matters and general commercial litigation.
• Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and related proceedings.
• Draft and negotiate premarital agreements, marital settlement agreements, and commercial settlement agreements.
• Advise clients regarding legal rights, obligations, risks, and strategic options.
• Perform legal research and prepare persuasive written work product for litigation, advisory, and negotiation matters.
• Remain current with changes in applicable law and understand the legal, business, and personal issues involved in client matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys and firm leadership to deliver high-quality client service and efficient case management.
• Handle administrative responsibilities related to the practice of law and active matter management.
