Job summary

The New York State Unified Court System, Appellate Division First Department’s Attorney Discipline Law Department seeks a qualified attorney for the Attorney Series, to perform all aspects of the disciplinary process, including investigations and litigation before Special Referees.

Candidates must manage a significant caseload, possess strong research and writing skills, and provide confidential memoranda, petitions, motions and briefs to the Appellate Division.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Two years of service in the specified attorney title or equivalent.
• Strong writing skills for memoranda, petitions, motions and briefs.
• Ability to manage a significant caseload and conduct investigations.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the attorney disciplinary process.
• Litigate before Special Referees and Appellate Division.
• Prepare confidential memoranda, petitions, and legal briefs.
