Job summary

Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking a Training and Development Advisor to shape how attorneys learn, grow, and excel. You will partner with practice groups, surface skill gaps, and translate insights into targeted, practice-specific training strategies.

You will design competency models, curate content, source trainers, and help deliver scalable programs across the firm. The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership, development of structured feedback tools, and involvement in firm-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of related law firm experience or JD and at least 3 years of experience in legal talent development.
• Experience with or interest in leveraging AI and other technology tools to support attorney learning and development.
• Strong consultative and active listening skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for practice groups and develop knowledge of their work and talent priorities.
• Build relationships with Practice Group Leaders and partners to discuss development needs.
• Conduct structured needs assessments to identify training priorities and opportunities.
• Translate objectives and feedback into actionable training strategies and priorities.
• Partner on competency models and benchmarks for practice groups.
• Collaborate to translate competency frameworks into learning initiatives.
• Source and vet trainers and coordinate with providers to deliver workshops.
• Assist in overall training program design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Contribute to scalable infrastructure for attorney development, including workflows and templates.
• Support development of tools for ongoing feedback and development conversations.
