Stein Sperling Bennett De Jong Driscoll PC in Montgomery County, MD, seeks a senior commercial litigation attorney to lead complex cases from assessment through trial and appeal, serving as first chair at state and federal courts.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience, Maryland Bar, strong writing and advocacy skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage case teams and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting (implied senior level).
• Excellent communication, advocacy, analytical, and legal writing skills.

• Argue dispositive and other substantive motions in court.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Mentor and supervise associates and paralegals on case teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex commercial litigation matters from case assessment and pleadings through trial and, where applicable, appeal.
• Serve as first chair at trials, arbitrations, and evidentiary hearings in state and federal courts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 15 years of commercial litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Extensive courtroom experience, including first chair experience in bench and jury trials.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation caseload and lead case teams.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, analytical, and legal writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Maryland Bar required; District of Columbia and Virginia Bar admissions a plus.
