• Conducts legal research, analysis, and consultation and develops recommendations to support sound decision-making and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Serve as a trusted legal leader shaping public health policy and protecting the health of Louisiana communities! This position serves as an Attorney 1-4 to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), Bureau of Legal Services, in a senior attorney position in a highly responsible, legal, consultative, and administrative capacity. This position serves as senior counsel to the LDH Office of Public Health (OPH) and the State Health Officer (SHO) in matters pertaining to public health laws and the State Sanitary Code (SSC). The position incumbent acts as senior counsel to all offices/bureaus within OPH with the exception of the Center for Records and Statistics (Vital Records) and the Bureau of Engineering.

The incumbent in this position works closely with the Assistant Secretary of OPH, the State Health Officer, the OPH Chief Sanitarian, the Program Manager of the Section of Environmental Epidemiology and Toxicology (SEET), and the Director of the Center for Community Preparedness.

Minimum Qualifications
