Make a statewide impact as a senior legal advisor with the Louisiana Department of Health! You’ll serves as a senior legal counsel for one of the nine LDH regions (LDH REGION 3) and serves as backup senior legal counsel for LDH Region 2, encompassing multiple parishes.
Incumbent performs highly responsible professional and administrative duties and is responsible for independently providing highly technical legal direction, advice, assistance, consultation, representation and having a direct influence on the operation of LDH regional activities involving several major programs under LDH in both regions [including Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD), Medicaid, Human Resources (HR), Adult Protective Services (APS), Office of Public Health (OPH), and Office of Women's Health, and for LDH facilities and offices located in the assigned regions (Regions 2 and 3). This position provides highly technical legal advice, assistance, and consultation on high profile and complex legal problems to Executive Counsel, General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsels. Incumbent must possess a broad and intensive legal experience in all phases of the legal process regarding health law.
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law plus four years of experience as a practicing attorney.
