Job summary

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in the legal field, with strong emphasis on insurance defense.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, challenging priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make well‑reasoned legal judgments.
  • High level of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on a range of legal issues such as corporate law, litigation, contracts, insurance, privacy, intellectual property, and employment.
  • Handle insurance defense cases from inception through trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issues and implications on matters of significant impact to the business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights.
  • Provide legal advice to management on various legal issues related to the business.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, draft legal pleadings, motions, and discovery notices.
  • Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and accreditation standards that affect the company.
  • Develop and deliver training on legal matters to ensure compliance across the organization.
