Job summary

Jobot is a growing employer in the Delmar Heights area seeking an experienced attorney for its employment defense practice. The role focuses on representing employers in employment law matters, with responsibilities spanning litigation, policy development, investigations, and training on workplace issues.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate, be in good standing with the state bar, and possess at least 2 years of civil defense experience, including insurance defense and trial advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and workers' compensation claims.
• Handle all aspects of litigation: drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial participation.
• Provide preventative legal advice: draft policies, investigations, and training on employment issues.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements for employers.
• Stay updated on current trends in employment law.
• Collaborate with legal team to strategize and achieve outcomes for clients.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Representing employers in all areas of employment law, including but not limited to wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and workers' compensation claims.
• Handling all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing and arguing motions, and participating in trial.
• Providing preventative legal advice to employers, including drafting employment policies and procedures, conducting workplace investigations, and providing training on employment law issues.
• Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements on behalf of employers.
• Staying abreast of current trends, practices, and developments in employment law.
• Collaborating with other members of the legal team to strategize and achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the state bar.
• A minimum of 2 years of civil defense experience.
• Proven experience in insurance defense and liability.
• Exceptional litigation skills, including experience in trial advocacy.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to resolve complex disputes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and projects, with a keen attention to detail.
