Job summary

Aionios LLC in San Diego seeks a Senior Family Law Attorney to lead complex, high-asset cases and mentor junior attorneys. You will take responsibility for strategy, negotiations, and client counseling in a dynamic practice.

The role requires substantial litigation experience, California bar membership, and a track record of large matters. A flexible on-site/hybrid arrangement with remote work approved is available, along with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Active member of the State Bar of California.
• 5–10+ years of family law experience with substantial litigation.
• Experience handling complex, high-asset family law matters.
• Supervising or mentoring associates preferred.
• Advanced law degree or family law specialization preferred.
• Familiarity with LexisNexis/Westlaw, XSpouse, and Lawyaw (Clio Draft) preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and problem-solving skills; composed under pressure.
• Ability to meet 1,500–1,600 annual billable hours and $500K in annual new business origination.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a complex family law caseload from inception to resolution.
• Appear as lead counsel at hearings, trials, and post-judgment matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement proposals.
• Lead settlements, mediations, and collaborative law processes.
• Analyze financial data including valuations and tax returns.
• Counsel clients on strategy, risk, and likely outcomes.
• Mentor Associate Attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
• Retain and manage third-party experts to advance case resolution.

Job description

Our client, a respected San Diego family law firm, is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney to take on a key leadership role within its practice. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned litigator who thrives on complex, high-asset matters and enjoys mentoring the next generation of attorneys.

What You'll Work On:

• Independently manage a complex family law caseload from inception through resolution, including dissolutions, custody and visitation disputes, support matters, property division, domestic violence proceedings, and adoptions
• Appear as lead counsel at RFOs, evidentiary hearings, trials, and post-judgment matters
• Draft sophisticated pleadings, motions, discovery, trial briefs, and settlement proposals
• Lead settlement negotiations, mediations, and collaborative law processes
• Analyze complex financial data, including business valuations, tax returns, tracing analyses, and guideline support calculations
• Counsel clients on strategy, risk, and likely outcomes in high-conflict, emotionally sensitive matters
• Supervise and mentor Associate Attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, providing quality control and feedback
• Retain and manage third-party experts to advance case resolution

What We're Looking For:

• Active member of the State Bar of California
• 5-10+ years of recent family law experience with substantial litigation and courtroom involvement
• Proven experience handling complex, high-asset family law matters
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring Associate Attorneys preferred
• Advanced law degree, family law specialization, or approved certification preferred
• Familiarity with LexisNexis/Westlaw, XSpouse, and Lawyaw (Clio Draft) preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and strategic problem-solving skills; composed and solution-oriented under pressure
• Ability to meet a 1,500-1,600 annual billable hour requirement, realization targets, and business origination expectations (including at least $500K in annual new business origination)
