The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office (OPSO), New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking an experienced Attorney to advise and represent OPSO in civil and criminal matters. The attorney will meet with the Chief Legal Officer, conduct legal research, and attend pretrial hearings to defend OPSO.
This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to work independently and with a team, and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited school. Louisiana licensure is required.

The Attorney advises and represents Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office (OPSO) in relation to their legal rights in civil and criminal cases. Their duties include meeting with the Chief Legal Officer to discuss the various aspects of OPSO cases, performing research to gather pertinent information for each case and attending all pretrial hearings. Work to resolve disputes for OPSO, represent OPSO at hearings in a court of law.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment within a secure correctional facility. The position may require travel to vendor locations, warehouses, construction sites, government offices, and professional conferences.
Availability outside normal business hours may occasionally be required to address emergencies, critical operational needs, or major procurement activities.
