Trusts & Estates Attorney (4–10 years) | Partnership Track | No Billable Pressure | NJ
A growing NJ firm with offices in Central and North Jersey is seeking a Trusts & Estates Attorney to work directly with a busy, well-regarded T&E partner serving high-net-worth clients on sophisticated planning, tax, administration, and related litigation matters.
Why this role stands out
- Sophisticated HNW matters typically seen at larger firms or boutiques
- No hard billable requirement (soft target ~1800, not tracked rigidly)
- Clear partnership track with no red tape or rigid formula
- Collegial, genuinely family-friendly culture (the office is empty by 5:15pm)
- Strong paralegal and litigation support
- Clients regularly in office for signings and meetings — very client-facing, relationship-driven practice
What they’re looking for
- 4–10 years of Trusts & Estates experience (flexible for the right person)
- Background in planning, tax, administration, and/or T&E litigation
- Experience with sophisticated/HNW clients
- Someone personable, empathetic, and comfortable in front of clients
- NJ bar required | NY a plus
- Clerkship a plus; academics not a focus
- Portable business welcome but not required
This could be an excellent move for someone at a larger firm or boutique who wants to continue doing high‑level work without the grind, or for someone with a small book who wants support and runway to grow.
Logistics
- Offices: North Jersey or Central Jersey (in‑office expectation, but not rigid)
- Salary: $135k–$170k+ (upward flexibility for experience and/or book)
- Discretionary annual bonus
- Full benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401k, parental leave)
- Informal interview process with the T&E Partner and Managing Partner
- Hiring ASAP
If you’re a T&E attorney who enjoys client interaction, sophisticated work, and a normal workday, this is worth a conversation.
