VC, a fully remote North Carolina civil litigation practice based in Charlotte, seeks an Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of civil litigation experience. You will manage a caseload, work from home when needed, and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials alongside a focused litigation team.

The compensation blends base salary with a performance-based bonus, aiming for a total annual range of $100,000–$125,000, with generous benefits and a flexible, autonomous work style.

Qualifications

• Must pass the North Carolina Bar Examination and obtain a license to practice law in North Carolina as a condition of employment
• Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in civil litigation
• Reside in Charlotte, NC metro area and attend depositions/hearings/trials in person as needed
• Ability to work effectively from home
• Proficiency with Mac OS, Adobe, Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Word, and other common office technology
• Ability and desire to work independently or as part of a litigation team with minimal supervision

Requirements

Daily Responsibilities

A VC civil litigation attorney manages a caseload of 10-30 open civil litigation matters from file opening to closing. Some matters are handled independently while in others the lawyer acts as part of a litigation team. You will:

• Make strategic decisions in your clients’ cases
• Prepare and serve pleadings, motions, discovery requests, notices, and correspondence in those cases
• Schedule and attend trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings
• Attend firm events and meetings

Compensation and Benefits

VC utilizes a compensation package that maximizes flexibility and allows attorneys to set and achieve their own compensation goals. VC’s compensation package includes:

• Compensation consists of a base salary and a performance-based bonus that has no cap. Including base salary and bonus, an Associate Attorney with the experience detailed above can expect to make between $100,000-$125,000.00 per year.

• 401K with 4% employer contribution
• The freedom to work from home and the technology to do so, including laptop, monitor, docking station, scanner, printer, etc.)
• Unlimited PTO and paid holidays
• Employer paid bar dues and CLE costs, and malpractice insurance
