Job Description

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (K.S.A.s):

  • Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine with specialization in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
  • Valid licenses for the State of Illinois.
  • Board certification or board eligibility required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Passion for pediatric care.

Job Duties:

  • Evaluate, monitor, and supervise patient care before, during, and after surgery, procedural, and/or diagnostic services ensuring optimal patient safety.
  • Administer pain relief and/or sedation before, during, and after procedures. Monitor vital signs and hemodynamics.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operative reviews and examinations on newborns and children to assess physical and mental development, asking intuitive questions to gather information.
  • Prescribe medications and provide detailed instructions for administration.
  • Order diagnostic tests and exams as needed.
  • Prescribe and interpret lab tests to identify infections or abnormalities.
  • Consult with pediatric colleagues and nurses on best practices.
  • Examine and treat injuries; refer to other specialists when necessary.
  • Perform procedures to correct deformities, congenital issues, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Maintain updated records of patient illnesses, surgeries, or other medical episodes.
  • Advocate for patients, families, and staff members.
  • Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology by attending seminars and conferences.

$100,000.00 - $1,000,000.00 Salary
