Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of patients' rooms and hospital common areas.
• Move, transport, and handle hazardous waste within the facility.
• Focus on reducing airborne allergens and contaminants, and eliminating surface germs, bacteria, and viruses.
• Ensure patient comfort by maintaining a clean hospital environment.
• Manage departmental supplies and keep the environment well-stocked.
• Perform other responsibilities as required or directed, specific to the unit.
• Model appropriate behavior in line with The Methodist Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training: No education required

Work Experience: 1-3 years in Housekeeping or no prior work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions in English.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant policies, equipment, and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motions.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• Physical exertion may include lifting up to 100 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently.
• Requires close visual acuity to perform tasks accurately.
