Job summary

Vets Hired is seeking an Attendance Technician to serve as the attendance officer for the school division, monitoring daily attendance, addressing truancy, and supporting dropout prevention efforts in accordance with attendance laws and school policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
• 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of attendance laws, truancy procedures, and school policies.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily student attendance and identify absenteeism and truancy patterns.
• Review and maintain accurate attendance records and reports.
• Conduct attendance conferences with students, parents, and school staff.
• Communicate with families regarding attendance concerns and attendance requirements.
• Conduct home visits for students with chronic absenteeism or truancy.
• Support dropout prevention and intervention programs.
• Coordinate with court officials and represent the school division in attendance-related legal matters.
• Prepare legal documentation and attendance reports for court proceedings.
• Maintain student attendance data using student information systems.
• Ensure confidentiality of student records and information.
• Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and community partners to resolve attendance issues.
• Perform additional administrative and student support duties as assigned.
