Job summary

The YMCA of Greater New York is hiring an Attendance Success Champion at McBurney YMCA, New York, to provide intensive attendance support for K–5 participants and engage families through check-ins, activities, and social-emotional learning.

You will maintain attendance records, plan age-appropriate events, collaborate with staff, and promote an inclusive environment aligned with the Y’s LEAP framework while ensuring safety and positive role modeling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with elementary-aged youth.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to participants and families through regular check-ins and activities.
• Distribute pre/post-program surveys on schedule.
• Plan and track attendance activities, family engagement, and events.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and connect with resources.
• Document progress and attendance; attend meetings as needed.
• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants.
• Collaborate with Afterschool Counselors, teachers, and staff.
• Promote inclusive, welcoming environment respecting diversity.
