Job summary

King Asphalt in Rock Hill, SC, is seeking a qualified flagger to support traffic control activities at various job sites. The role requires ATSSA-style training/certification and proven flagger experience to ensure safe, compliant lane closures and work zones.

You will coordinate with project management, crews, and safety personnel to implement effective traffic control plans, perform inspections, and maintain equipment and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a flagger.
• Proven experience working as a flagger.
• Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform work zone traffic control activities as needed and required.
• Develop and execute an effective traffic control plan in conjunction with project management.
• Conduct daily and routine work zone traffic control inspections.
• Train and develop workers who perform work zone traffic control tasks.
• Operate pickups and/or flatbed trucks and use hand tools.
• Work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolds to install or repair traffic control devices.
• Load and unload trucks; haul and lift materials.
• Complete required paperwork timely with accuracy.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and inventory of work zone traffic control equipment and materials.
• Comply with all company, local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor or manager.
• Certification through ATSSA or equivalent authority.
• Proven flagger experience and knowledge of state traffic regulations.
• Stand for extended periods and work in harsh weather; strong teamwork and communication skills.
