Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services seeks a physician to provide outpatient, urgent, and initial emergency care for a government personnel program with international scope.

The role requires ATLS, board certification in EM/FM/IM, and a U.S. medical license. The assignment includes international relocation to Iraq for the duration of the project and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across settings.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical education program.
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
• Full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or DC.
• Current ATLS certification is required; BLS/ACLS also required.
• At least five years of recent physician experience, including a minimum of six months in active clinical practice within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary, urgent, and initial emergency care for a broad range of medical conditions.
• Assess, stabilize, and manage urgent or emergent presentations; coordinate higher levels of care and medical evacuation.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and staff for coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Manage follow-up of chronic conditions and maintain documentation.
• Support emergency readiness by participating in response activities and patient transfers.
