Job summary

Air Transport International (ATI) is seeking a Lead Mechanic to oversee aircraft maintenance for FAA/compliance and to guide A&P activities at the station.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, a valid FAA A&P license, and experience with 757/767 aircraft; ability to lead teams, communicate clearly, and pass DOT/FAA pre-employment screenings. The role requires travel readiness and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Experience with 757/767 aircraft.
• Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers; stand, bend, reach; sit for extended periods; comply with ATI attendance.
• Parts 121, 125; Heavy transport category aircraft experience preferred.
• Airframe and Powerplant license (FAR 121.378a).
• Shall have a valid passport or ability to get one.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, maintenance, and repair of airframe components, powerplants, aircraft communication equipment, and associated components in accordance with Company manuals, manufacturer’s manuals, including policies, procedures, Bulletins, and Orders.
• Lead Mechanics will monitor and provide guidance for tasks, company processes/procedures, sign for work accomplished, and Buy Back for those assigned to Lead.
• The Lead Mechanic will monitor for defective, worn, or failed parts and ensure safe working conditions.
• Monitor station requirements such as housekeeping duties and ensure those assigned maintain work areas and repair/maintain company property.
• Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor or higher management.
• When exercising authority under RII provisions, report directly to the Director of Quality Control.
• Attend all Company training classes as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Purpose:

Responsible for aircraft maintenance. To ensure all aircraft maintenance is performed in compliance with FAA, manufacturers, and company requirements. To provide guidance and leadership over the A&P functions of the station. Has the authority of the station supervisor to schedule/adjust the shift of A&P Mechanics for the accomplishment of immediate company goals.

Job Functions:

• Overhaul, maintenance, and repair of airframe components, powerplants, aircraft communication equipment, and associated components in accordance with Company manuals, manufacturer’s manuals, including policies, procedures, Bulletins, and Orders.
• Lead Mechanics will be required to monitor and provide guidance for tasks, company processes/procedures, sign for work accomplished, and Buy Back for those assigned to Lead.
• The Lead Mechanic in performing his/her duties is required to be constantly alert for defective, worn, or failed parts as well as safe working conditions.
• The Lead Mechanic should monitor the station's requirements such as housekeeping duties and ensuring those assigned are policing his/her work area or repair and maintenance of company property.
• Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor or higher management.
• When the Lead Mechanic is exercising his/her authority under the RII provisions of this manual, he/she will be directly responsible to the Director of Quality Control.
• Attend all Company training classes as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check.
• Experience with 757/767 aircraft.
• Ability to clearly communicate with customers and co-workers; stand, bend, and reach; sit for extended periods of time; and comply with ATI attendance requirements.
• Parts 121, 125, 145; Heavy transport category aircraft experience preferred.
• Airframe and Powerplant license (FAR 121.378a).
• Shall have a valid passport or the ability to get one.

Physical Requirements:

• Comply with ATI attendance requirements.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work at heights up to 80 feet.
• Work from ladders up to 10 feet.
• Climb up to 3 flights of stairs.
