Job summary

Air Transport International (ATI) seeks a Lead Mechanic to supervise A&P tasks and oversee maintenance of 757/767 aircraft. Responsibilities include overseeing overhaul and repair of airframes, powerplants, and communication equipment in line with manuals and FAA regulations.

The role requires a valid A&P license, DOT/FAA background checks, and strong leadership with excellent communication to coordinate with customers and co-workers. Travel and passport readiness are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must complete a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Experience with 757/767 aircraft
  • Ability to clearly communicate with customers and co-workers; stand, bend, and reach; sit for extended periods of time; and comply with ATI attendance requirements
  • Parts 121, 125, 145; Heavy transport category aircraft experience preferred
  • Airframe and Powerplant license (FAR 121.378a)
  • Shall have a valid passport or the ability to get one

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, maintenance, and repair of airframe components, powerplants, aircraft communication equipment and associated components in accordance with Company manuals, manufacturer's manuals, including policies, procedures, Bulletins and Orders.
  • Lead Mechanics will be required to monitor and provide guidance for tasks, company processes/procedures, sign for work accomplished and Buy Back for those assigned to Lead.
  • The Lead Mechanic in performing his/her duties is required to be constantly alert for defective, worn or failed parts as well as safe working condition.
  • The Lead Mechanic should monitor the stations requirements such as housekeeping duties and ensuring those assigned are policing his/her work area or repair and maintenance of company property.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor or higher management.
  • When the Lead Mechanic is exercising his/her authority under the RII provisions of this manual, he/she will be directly responsible to the Director of Quality Control.
  • Attend all Company training classes as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Purpose:

Responsible for aircraft maintenance. To insure all aircraft maintenance is performed in compliance with FAA, manufacturers, and company requirements. To provide guidance and leadership over the A&P functions of the station. Has the authority of the station supervisor to schedule / adjust the shift of A&P Mechanics for the accomplishment of immediate company goals.

Physical Requirements:
  • Comply with ATI attendance requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work at heights up to 80 feet
  • Work from ladders up to 10 feet
  • Climb up to 3 flights of stairs.
