The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. on the main campus seeks an Operations Assistant in the Athletics Department to support concession operations, laundry, and video duties for practices and games. This role requires flexible evening and weekend hours and may involve travel during the season.

The position reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics and offers a Federal Work-Study funded student appointment with a base hourly rate of $10.00–$13.00.

Qualifications

• Attendance mandatory for all home games, with evening and weekend shifts; travel may be required during season.
• Concession Stand: provide great customer service, comfortable dealing with the public, count money and make change in a timely manner, willing to obtain a food handlers card.
• Laundering clothes appropriately. Ability to understand and use computerized laundry machine.
• IT background not necessary; no previous filming experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate concession stand: manage sales (handling cash), prepare food, maintain product inventory and stocking, clean concession stand and equipment.
• Wash uniforms and deliver uniforms to proper locker rooms.
• Operate cameras (video tape practices and games) and other technology to assist coaches; copy games, create video exchange with opposing teams.
