Job summary

University of Arizona Athletics is seeking a Media Relations Professional I to support day-to-day communications for assigned sports, coordinating interview requests and press materials while promoting student-athletes, coaches and the program across traditional and digital channels.

The role requires flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and travel; experience with social media and content management is highly valued, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and NCAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or higher required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day media relations and communications for assigned sports by coordinating interview requests, distributing press materials, and helping prepare coaches and student-athletes for media availability.
  • Support digital and social media strategies by scheduling content and gathering assets across platforms.
  • Draft and update game notes, press releases, and web content under supervision.
  • Organize media operations for home events including credentialing and postgame interviews.
  • Maintain accurate game statistics and historical data with official scorers.
  • Upload and organize multimedia content across internal and external platforms.
  • Respond to information requests with clear, accurate answers or routing as needed.
  • Participate in communications planning meetings and contribute ideas for coverage and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with student interns/volunteers on day-to-day tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, university standards, and NCAA regulations; seek direction as needed.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
