Job summary

Harvard University seeks a seasoned public relations professional to advance athletics communications. You will lead media coverage for selected sports, craft stories and multimedia content, and strengthen the department’s external presence across traditional and new media channels.

The role also involves coordinating social media strategies, managing game-day media operations, and guiding student staff while maintaining robust archival records of statistics and rosters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years in athletic communications or sports media.
• Master's degree desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage media and public relations for select sports and department initiatives.
• Create content for the Harvard Athletics website and multimedia platforms.
• Coordinate social media and digital storytelling strategies for department programs.
• Oversee media relations at home events and travel with varsity teams.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise game-day staff and interns.
• Archive current and historical team information including rosters and stats.
