Job summary

University of Oklahoma in Norman seeks a Shipping/Receiving Technician to manage daily shipments and deliveries for the Athletics Department, unload trucks, log deliveries, and ensure items reach the correct staff. The role requires high school diploma, 12 months shipping/receiving experience, and valid Oklahoma driver’s license (with forklift license often required).

The position supports game-day operations and adheres to NCAA/SEC rules and university policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 12 months shipping and receiving experience.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and distributing departmental deliveries: manages the receipt, storage, issuance, and delivery of athletics materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Accepts and signs for athletics deliveries.
• Delivers supplies and/or materials using university vehicles, including moving and/or lifting of equipment.
• Assist with event set-up and breakdow.
• Collaborates with facilities/maintenance staff to implement and maintain facility services and processes related to shipping and receiving.
• Gather departmental quotes and ensure order fulfillment while maintaining good vendor relationships.
• Assists supervisor with establishing a proper material inventory and filing system.
• Develops long and short-range maintenance plans/programs, delivering sorting procedures, delivery schedules, and mail routes.
• Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
