Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, Ohio seeks an on-site Individualized Learning Specialist to support Athletics Academic Services. The intermittent position provides one-on-one coaching to enhance study strategies, organization, time management, and general academic skills in alignment with NCAA and conference rules.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and experience with diverse student populations; a Master’s degree is preferred. Collaboration with campus academic support teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working with students in educational settings.
• Knowledge of effective learning strategies and study skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual student learning needs.
• Help students develop compensatory learning skills (study strategies, organization, time management, reading/writing, note taking, test taking).
• Coordinate services with on-campus academic support providers.
• Maintain an electronic summary of student progress.
• Communicate with SAASS staff regarding student status and progress.
• Attend bi-monthly staff meetings.
