Job summary

Northwestern University in Evanston, IL seeks a Director of Athletics Information & Technology Services to provide strategic leadership over technology services for 300+ staff, 21 varsity teams, and events, aligning with university goals.

The role directs identity and security operations, network and AV systems, data integrations, vendor relations, and a broad technology roadmap, collaborating with NUIT, Northwestern Medicine, and Recreation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible information technology experience including systems, network administration, and security operations.
• Demonstrated experience managing IT budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and interact with a wide variety of constituents.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Athletics IT services across staff and facilities.
• Direct identity, access, and security operations, including MFA/SSO, vulnerability management, and FERPA/Title IX compliance.
• Oversee network infrastructure, wireless, and AV/collaboration systems with NUIT and Facilities.
• Lead data protection, backup, and file services strategy with legal holds coordination.
• Coordinate athletics applications and data integrations, vendor relationships, and renewals.
• Serve as liaison between Athletics and NUIT, Northwestern Medicine, and Recreation on shared systems.
