Job summary

The University of Cincinnati Foundation is seeking a Director of Development, Athletics to drive philanthropic resources for UC Athletics programs. You will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, collaborating with Athletics staff and UCF teams to move donors to higher giving levels.

You will travel to engage donors, close gifts, and steward relationships while coordinating with multiple departments to maximize donor impact.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years of fundraising experience, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years in development, preferably in athletics.
• Proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts at the major level.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with donors, colleagues, volunteers and other constituencies.
• Willingness to travel and attend evening and weekend activities as needed; valid driver’s license required.
• Strong oral and written communication and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an active portfolio of major gift prospects ($100K+) through strategic interactions and personal visits.
• Foster partnerships with Athletics staff and leadership to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and close major donors.
• Collaborate with UCF departments and fundraising specialists for Athletics’ benefit.
• Collaborate across disciplines to enhance fundraising revenue and donor impact.
• Ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts and donors.
• Maintain quality donor files and timely contact reports in the Foundation’s database.
• Other duties as assigned.
